In Mandela Class, in addition to Guided Reading and ERIC each day, we meet 3 times a week for Book Club. We read in small groups a book which Mrs Matthews especially selects for us, she wraps it up as a surprise and asks us questions to promote discussion about what we have read. It is a really enjoyable time of the day. Group A are still reading Varjak Paw, they are really enjoying the book and feel it is just getting better and better! Group B are still reading Holes. They are really enjoying the book and how it jumps forwards and backwards in time. It is keeping them on their toes! Group C are still reading Millions the no-so-great train robbery. They are enjoying the book and find it really funny - especially as it's a bit rude in places! Group D have finished Boy in the Dress today! They really liked it and would highly recommend it to other KS2 readers. They are so excited to open their new mystery book next week!! Group E have almost finished their book Dragonory. They have really enjoyed the fact that it is a book of short stories and like the variety within the book.
