We began our work on Place Value this week. We started with practising being able to read and write numbers up to 10,000,000, then looked at comparing and ordering these numbers before finally looking at rounding numbers. All the children worked hard with these objectives and were able to solve some reasoning problems related to them. A great start to our maths this year :)

Mystery Book club is when Mrs Matthews wraps up a book she has especially selected for each group to read. We've been seeing the packages on the table since last week, so have been dying to find out what was inside! Today we found out and got to unwrap them!! Our first Mystery Book club was a great success! We were all excited to unwrap and start reading our first book. Everyone was engrossed in reading their books and were keen to talk about what they had read.
Another great day today. The children got really stuck in to our team challenge this morning and continue to take the new routines in their stride.
Here is the winning team with their Rude Goldberg style creation! In the afternoon, the class investigated how many water droplets could fit on a coin.

It's our last full week in Mandela Class, 14 weeks of home learning and 16 weeks since lockdown began and we have all been working hard still, whilst having some fun in the two Bubbles when we are in school.
