Today, after working really hard over the past few months, we handed our soft toys over to our customers. The children should be really proud of what they have achieved - starting with an initial design (by their reception buddy) to a final product. It was not an easy task but really showed the children's skills, not only with regard to DT but also with our learning gems.

We were sad to see Mr Child's go but are continuing to work hard and enjoy our PE lessons with our new PE coaches from XtraTime! Great use of these learning gems:We have made a great start to our new French topic - Le Cirque. The children started by naming some of the countries that speak French before using their geography skills to locate them on a world map. They then labelled the countries with both the French and English spelling. They have also been busy learning how to pronounce letters of the alphabet in French and using this to spell some of the French speaking countries. Below is an example of one of the countries - Senegal Great use of these learning gems:In English we have made a great start to our new creative writing unit. We collected colour adjectives and magical nouns and then drafted and edited our own ‘I can see…’ poems. We finished off by writing them up neatly and drawing an eye 👁️ to display them. It was lovely to see the creative vocabulary choices and imagery everyone came up with, as well as the fantastic art work! Our completed work:Good use of these Learning Gems:
Good use of these Learning Gems:We have been working hard on fractions since we started back at school this year. So far we have compared and added fractions (both requiring us to make equivalent fractions). Today we looked at subtracting fractions. Unfortunately we can't use a simple method like we do for adding them, but we have been practising a method which we have had lots of success with - as shown in our books below. Great use of this learning gem:What a busy end to the year we have had! Here are a few of the things we have done to celebrate the end of the year and Christmas.
