So what is the Bananagrams competition?....... The BANANAGRAMS Challenge was set up to provide KS2 pupils with an enjoyable and interactive way to develop language skills as they play and learn with words. Fully created by the makers of the best-selling word game BANANAGRAMS, the Challenge was open to pupils aged 8-11 (years 4, 5 and 6) and was FREE to enter our School. In-school play From February, our Year 6 children were participating and playing BANANAGRAMS, in groups of four. The winners of each group then played each other, two players at a time, in straightforward elimination rounds. This continued until our school had one outright winner – our Top Banana! Once we had found our school’s Top Banana, we had to submit their name and photo to the Bananagrams competition, along with a short paragraph telling them why our school enjoyed Going Wild With Words during the Banangrams School Challenge! In April the Bananagram Team will choose the top 3 submissions and make them available for public vote on social media. When the voting closes at the end of April, the school with the most votes will win £1,000! There will be additional prizes for schools with the longest word, the most number of pupils playing and the best-decorated classroom! WE NEED YOUR HELP>>>>>>>>>>> Please share and like our Bananagram Challenge on the Trimley St Martin PTA Facebook page Follow along on Facebook as the Winners are Revealed! April 1st–7th: Daily sharing of all submissions April 8th–14th: Awards announced for the longest valid word played in a grid, the school with the most student participation and the classroom that goes the most bananas with décor April 15th–21st: Team Bananagrams will select their favorite three stories and post them on Facebook. Facebook users will vote for their favorite story out of the three posted. April 22nd–26th: Voting closes and the winner of the £1,000 prize is announced! Make sure you follow the competition on Facebook and vote for our school...... The more votes we receive the closer to the £1000 we could get........ With nearly 90 amazing Easter bonnets to chose from, finding the best 7 (1 from each class) was an extremely hard job to do. Thank you to Mr Barnard, Mrs Imlach and Miss Winton, who had the hard job of being judges..... Every entry received an Easter Bonnet certificate and the top 7 won an Easter mug and chocolates.
