We would like to tell you about Marty Jopson, Mini beast safari on Thursday 19 November 2020 at 4.30pm, which is suitable for Primary aged pupils.
Booking is free and information and the booking page can be accessed via the link below. We would like to invite you to take a journey from everyday life into the realm of microscopical wonders with Marty Jopson. The adventure begins with everyday mini-beasts, heads off to freaky pond creatures and ends with a little bit of something human that’s far too small to see. The show has hairy abdomens, tentacled monsters, bacteria and even blood. There will also be a chance to ask any questions about mini-beasts and microscopy. This show is supported by Zeiss, global leaders in the manufacture of microscopes. To join Marty Jopson on the mini beast safari please follow the link below. want something to do over the half term break? The World Puddle Jumping Championships are usually held at Wicksteed Park in Kettering, but in order to comply with coronavirus restrictions the 2020 event will not be held at a single location. Entrants will instead submit videos of themselves jumping into puddles they have made or found. They will be scored on jumping ability, enthusiasm and splashing distance. Judges for the event, in its eighth year, will also consider "stickability", which is described as the amount of mud which clings to each competitor. Rachel James from Wicksteed Park said the event was "a great way to encourage people, and especially children, to get out into the fresh air". Entries can be submitted on the park's Facebook page by 2 November, with the prize winners announced soon after. Check out the video on BBC Breakfast
At Active Suffolk they are currently working to revise their offer to Children and Young People across the county by revising their five year plan.
As part of this work, they have teamed up with Healthwatch Suffolk to carry out some research. Rather than making the decisions themselves, they are working with Healthwatch Suffolk to gather insight from children and young people from school years, year 1 – 11 and they need your help. The survey which has been created as part of this project is to be completed by parents/ carers of children from year 1 – 2 and pupils in year 3 – 11 in Suffolk or the young people themselves. The survey will take 5-10 minutes to complete and all responses are anonymous and not linked to an individual’s contact details or name in any way. Please complete the survey today by using the following link. https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/ActiveSuffolk |
