Pupils from Nightingale class accompanied by Mr Stock, Mrs Lawrence and Miss Nicholls travelled to Causton Junior School to compete in the Parlauf Relay competition. Dressed in a brand new school sports kit, the children were well prepared for the competition. Children from Trimley finished in 2nd place and still had energy to race Mr Stock in a full lap of the field! Behaviour from the pupils was exceptional!
Today's P.S.H.E afternoon was a massive success! Thank you to all of the Parents and Carers who came along to offer their support. Children spent the afternoon learning about the values linked directly to the classes in the school (Independence, bravery, cooperation, being imaginative, being ready for challenge and being tolerant). We all ended up in the hall at the end of the afternoon singing the songs the children have learnt about key values.
Today see the first of the two Pendleton & Edison Productions. The children performed a number of dances from famous west end musicals including CATS and Annie. They created their dances in P.E with Mr Childs and learnt the lyrics to the songs in Music lessons. The audience was full and loved the children's performance. Thank you to all that attended!
Today was Sports Relief and the first 1,3,5mile challenge. It was also a non uniform day – pupils were invited to come to school wearing Sports wear for a donation of £1.
Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 were aiming to run, walk or jog 1 mile, KS2 were aiming to run 3 miles. Every single child completed at least 1 mile and 95% of Key Stage 2 completed 3 miles or more, with 10% of those running 5 miles! The majority of children ran or jogged. Parents came along to support and cheer on the runners. There was a great atmosphere. Pupils were presented with 1, 3 and 5 miles certificates. The school are extremely proud of the pupils, who were exceptional today – not just with regards to effort they put into their running but with their attitude towards the challenge and the way in which they supported each other to keep going! It's been fantastic, I am so proud of what the children achieved today. We are awaiting the return of all the sponsor forms but have already raised about £675 for good causes. Mr Stock TSM celebrated World Book Day with twist! Rather than dressing up as their favourite book character, they dressed a potato up instead. Take a look at some of the fantastic creations from the pupils!
