It was lovely to see most of the class today! They had an amazing time meeting their new class teachers Mrs Campbell and Mrs Stockdale. They listened to the story The Wonky Donkey. Then had to listen carefully to follow instructions to make different objects with their individual bags of play dough. Congratulations to our progress award winner Kaitlyn and our values awards winner Jack. The children loved making the play dough shapes!
We've had another really busy week! It was lovely to welcome some more of the class back to school and to see the children playing and learning together. The dinosaurs and mud kitchen were particularly popular this week and the children enjoyed helping to chop up a tree which snapped over night. The children have practised counting to and from 20 and recognising their teen numbers. We've also practised lots of phonics skills including reading some tricky words, recapping some phase 3 graphemes and writing some simple sentences. It was so hot on Thursday that the children had a special snack of ice poles! The children completed some fab creative activities too! It was lovely to have some of the children back at school. They thoroughly enjoyed playing with their friends! There was lots of Phonics practise both at school and at home. In Maths the children have looked at 2D shapes and numbers beyond 10. Here are some more fun activities the children have been up to at home: Well done Hughes class!
This week it was lovely to welcome some of the class back to school. The children had lots of fun playing and practising their phonics, writing and maths despite our bare looking classroom! The children particularly enjoyed cleaning the bikes regularly and planting some seeds. The children working from home have been very busy too! They've explored 2D shapes, described their dream house and been retelling the story of the Three Little Pigs. Well done everyone for another fab week of learning! :D
The children have began Summer term 2 with out new topic traditional tales. There has been lots of lovely learning shown via Tapestry including 2D shape hunts at home, making the three little pig's houses and lots of fun reading games. Some children made some beautiful pop up books about farms. Others practised yoga 🧘♀️ There were lots of fun examples of learning maths skills. The children played phonics games and practised reading and writing. There were lots of walks in local areas and Blackie the horse had several visitors 😁 It was lovely to see the children helping with jobs at home. The children were also set a dance challenge by Mr Childs which will be revealed soon... 😁
The children have sent some lovely examples of their home learing this week. There's been a lot of baking, and visits past farms and animals too. I'm loving the imaginative ways parents are teaching reading reading, writing and maths skills to their children. Well done everyone :) The children and their families have been completing some lovely home learning tasks this week :) |
