Yesterday we had great fun decorating and making some giant ears. Today we used them to go on a listening walk around the school. We discovered to be good listeners we have to: - Use our ears! - Stay quiet - Walk carefully - Sit Still - Look at what we are listening to

Today we all got changed for PE. With only a little help everyone changed from their uniform into their PE kits. We even practised how to fold up our clothes and put them in our bags to keep them tidy.
Mr Childs taught us to play games with a large parachute. We had lots of fun!! A big and warm welcome to all the new children to class Hughes.
A very successful day for all. Thank you to parents for allowing your children to come in all by themselves! This was very helpful in settling the children into their everyday early morning routines. Plus we had no tears, by the children at least. Over the next few weeks the children will be learning the school and class rules & routines, plus many new skills. If your child comes home and is confused or there is something we send home you don't understand, please come and speak to any member of the Hughes team. All of the staff in Class Hughes would like to say a very fond farewell to the class of 2015.
Each and every child will be sadly missed as they head off to Year 1. As teachers and school staff you watch as the children enter school as small and sometimes shy children and then watch with great pride as they leave as confident learners ready for their school journey ahead of them. I know that myself, Mrs Rushbrooke, Mrs Cumming, Mrs Lawrence and Mrs Wray would also like to say a huge thank you for all the best wishes, kind words, cards and presents. We were very over whelmed and even had a few tears. A huge thank you for all your support throughout the year. Last week we had a very special delivery. He has been living in the classroom for everyone to see. Today we fed him- A MOUSE!
The fruit and vegetables the children planted last term have really grown. Today we dug up our potatoes ready to eat tomorrow!
Song of the week- Ten a bed. Recognising numbers to 100. Can you say them all before the numbers disappear? Today we said goodbye to our Painted Lady Butterflies. We have watched them over the last 4 weeks as they quadrupled in size as they munched through food, turned into chrysalis before breaking out as beautiful butterflies.
