During the holidays many families across the world will be celebrating Shrove Tuesday and Ash Wednesday before Lent. So not to be left out Mrs Hinchey helped to make some rather yummy pancakes. Children in Class Hughes would like to wish Thomas a happy 5th Birthday and a thank you for their cake and wonderful party bags. During the afternoon of Monday 9th the children were expertly aided to build and make their very own vehicles using reclaimed materials. Using scissors and glue the children cut and stuck materials to make cars, trains, trucks and boats. Our next step is to paint and finish the models.
We looked carefully at the teddies we brought to the teddy bears picnic and chose which colours to use to paint a portrait. Our Display. On Monday Mrs Ross was very happy to find a certificate on the classroom door. Class Hughes had been awarded the 'Weekly Spotless Classroom' certificate. Well done guys!!! On Tuesday in assembly, Phoebe proudly accepted a certificate on Class Hughes behalf for raising the most pennies for the 'Home-Start's Friends for Families Appeal'. We all brought home the winning wrist bands. Another proud moment!!
If you go down to the woods today You're sure of a big surprise. If you go down to the woods today You'd better go in disguise! For every bear that ever there was Will gather there for certain, Because today's the day the Teddy Bears have their picnic. Today Class Hughes had their own Teddy Bears picnic. A big THANK YOU to Mrs Hinchey for helping the children to make all their own sandwiches. Throughout the day we all got to paint a picture of the teddy or toy that we invited to the picnic. Keep an eye out for the pictures of the display!! Our teddies!!! Today was Ruby's birthday and the whole class were treated to some rather delicious strawberry and blueberry muffins. A big thank you to Ruby's mum. During the week, all of us had the opportunity to bring in a toy from home and share it with the class. Mrs Ross sat at the back of the carpet area and allowed us to sit on her seat and show our toys. Mrs Ross, Mrs Rushbrooke and Mrs Cumming were very impressed how we had enough courage to talk in front of the whole class and use lots of 'wow' words (words that describe what something is like, e.g. red, big, fluffy, plastic and metal). |
