Just to let tell you know how we have begun the second half of the Autumn term. We have begun our new topic of Dragons with some interesting description work and settings while we read lots of interesting dragon stories with a focus on the special dragon George meets when he founds a golden egg. We have completed our topic on planets which we all thoroughly enjoyed !!!! Science moves on to learning about materials in our material World topic. Mathematics challenges continue with learning about different calculation methods. This week's focus is multiplication of 4 digit numbers and a challenge of investigating multiples and factors and discovering common multiples and common factors. Our History topic of Anglo Saxons also begins. Mrs MacFarlane

All the children in the new Barlow class have begun the new Autumn term with enthusiasm and great interest in our new topics. Our main topic focus of Space has provided inspiration for literacy and we have begun to write fun poetry and creative stories related to the topic. We have researched the planets in our galaxy and move on next week to write an application to be an astronaut on a future space mission. Each child has been tested on the mathematics challenge and we achieved a 100 percent for mathematics homework completed. Check out our solar system curriculum plan to see where e are going next.
