The children chose which book we would read before lunch today 😁
We are going to do this regularly to allow the children ownership of their learning and to enjoy a range of books. We had a very cold morning in the Wild wood today! The children loved making a worm hotel, feeding chickens and giving each other lifts in the wheel barrow. Today we learnt the sound /qu/. The children practising forming the letters which make qu. Some then wrote words containing/qu/, others read words containing/qu/ and some practised finding the initial sounds in words. The children made delicious cheese and chive bread this week! They had to cut, knead, roll and shape 😊 Today was Mrs Matthews' Reading Raffle assembly, there are many books to win, if you read 5 times a week! Our YR winner was very pleased with his choice.
The children made delicious chocolate biscuits with Mrs White and Mrs Ward. They decorated them with coloured icing and Smarties. We have new challenge books which we have to complete independently each day! 😁 We had a lovely Christmas lunch with our Year 6 buddies! 😁 We've had an elf called Snowy who has come to visit us. He is going to check we are good and report back to Father Christmas! However he is a bit cheeky and getting into a bit of mischief! |
