First we had to find a numbered leaf and make that number using natural materials. We then had to find a numbered leaf and make the number which is one more. We then found leaves and had to make one less.
We had a cold morning in the Wild Wood so enjoyed some delicious hot chocolate (thank you Miss Boggis for making it). We completed some maths work outside. First we had to find a numbered leaf and make that number using natural materials. We then had to find a numbered leaf and make the number which is one more. We then found leaves and had to make one less. The chickens always love it when we visit because it means extra snacks!! 😁

Mr Edward's and the young engineers club showed us what they've been doing this half term! We had an amazing morning! Debbie and Kev from Kinetic Science came to visit us and teach us about planets and astronauts! We learnt about the eight planets in our solar system and then had to run to find the correct picture, of the plant Debbie named, around the hall. We then made PlayDoh planets to represent their size and order in the solar system. We then learnt about the international space station. Debbie discussed how astronauts sleep and use the toilet and showed us the sort of food they eat. We even made rockets which Kev and Debbie launched for us!
We were lucky enough to meet Lewis Ludlam's dad today. He told us how Lewis became a famous rugby player. We even got to see him world cup medal! 😁 Year 1 had a tractor come to visit today and Mrs Stockdale kindly let us go and see it! As it was so cold today, we enjoyed hot chocolate whilst playing in the Wild wood! 😁 As part of our space topic we've been exploring Planet Earth. The children enjoyed trying to make this World puzzle. They had to use lots of problem solving skills as well as examining the puzzle pieces carefully.
Diako, Jacob and Stanley very kindly came to make Salt dough snowmen with us Thursday afternoon. It was so much fun rolling, stretching and shaping the salt dough. We loved seeing our friends from Year 6 and creating some fab snowmen! |
