We've been thinking about the position of the hour hand and the clues this can give us to telling the time. We found out that o'clock times sit exactly on the hour position. At half past times the hour hand sits half way between the two hours. When it's quarter past, the hour hand sits just past the hour position. At quarter to times, the hour hand sits closest to the new hour but not quite touching it. Well done Year 2!

We had a lovely time on our nature walk this morning as part of British Science Week. We were identifying different plants and animals.
Today was Mrs Matthews' Reading Raffle assembly - there are many books to win, if you read 5 times a week! Our Y2 winner was very pleased with her choice.
We had to hunt for matching singular and plural nouns. We then explored what happened to each singular noun when we turned it into a plural. We've started our whole class guided reading, today we are using are skimming and scanning skills to find words from the chapter we are going to read. We are defining these words so we will know what they mean when we read them.
