Today we looked at being safe on a bike.
We thought about the different elements of a helmet and the job of a helmet.
We then designed our own egg helmets and tested them out.

Love from Miss Thurlow and Lincoln class In our science lessons we are thinking about keeping healthy. This week we completed an exercise class to help us think about the effects of different types of exercise on our bodies. We were very competitive and even had a plank challenge!
This term in Art we are printing. We made some beautiful stencils and have been exploring mixing the primary colours.
What a lovely first two days back we have had. The children have made a super start to 2017!
In computing we are going to be creating our own space games using scratch. On Friday we learnt about algorithms. We thought of these as a set of instructions that took us from one place to another. We had to write algorithms(left, right, forward, backwards) to get are partner from "Earth" to the "Moon". We even had the challenge of taking them past "Mars" on the way. We discussed whether our algorithms worked or not and what we could do to make them better. I was so impressed with everyone's super attitude to learning. Well done Year 2. On Monday we recreated some Christmas songs. Can you guess which songs we are playing? Merry Christmas and a happy New Year!
We are feeling very festive in Year 2.
We had a lovely Christmas dinner on Wednesday. Thank you to the grown ups who came and bought our lovely creations last night. Thank you to the grown ups who came to help with our Christmas craft afternoon. I apologise for the difficulty of the string snowmen- I think I got a bit ambitious when planning. Unfortunately they will not be for sale on Thursday but I will create some easier Christmas crafts with the children tomorrow so there will be beautiful creations available on Thursday.
